Become a member

Our Membership is open to anyone, male or female regardless of age. We welcome prospective members to attend a few regular meetings in order to get to know the existing members. This gives prospective members the opportunity of seeing what Rotary is all about, and whether Rotary is for them. They are always welcomed and made to feel at home. To attend our meetings, you can book in advance, either via a Rotarian if known, or by emailing us in advance.

Individual membership

Members are encouraged to attend the regular meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at the Marygreen Manor Hotel (can vary) at 6.30pm for 7.00pm, where we generally have a speaker to entertain us. The third Monday in each month is split between social meetings and business meetings which are held quarterly, to decide policy and planning.

We try to vary the type of social functions we have within the club, but once a quarter our regular meetings become Partners Evenings, where we bring along our other halves so they can all meet up, and again we usually have a speaker or some form of entertainment.

We also have trips out to places of interest, dinner parties, lunches and theatre visits. Some of our members involve themselves in sporting activities, with golf being the most popular.

There are, however, other sporting opportunities available with competitions organised by other. Rotary clubs in the district, such as bowls, snooker, darts, cribbage, badminton and tennis.

Corporate membership

There are many companies or organisations within the Brentwood area who would love to become more involved with the local community but are not sure how to do this. Putting something back in the form of charitable donations, sponsorship or even good old ‘hands-on’ graft is something which is now possible to do through our corporate membership scheme.

Deep down, many people would like the opportunity to do something that is personally satisfying. Whether it is volunteering, doing some kind of charity work, or supporting activities that benefit people less fortunate than themselves, we feel certain there is that underlying drive within us all to put something back into the community, but don’t know how to do it.

Companies can now do something to reverse the trend. If you become a corporate member, you are basically paying for two of your employees to become members of our Rotary club. So, what’s in it for me?  That’s probably the first question you are likely to ask. How much is it going to cost?  That’s simple to answer - £300 per year (£150 per member) minimum (meaning you can always have more than two members should you so wish). In reality however, it will cost you absolutely nothing, as you can immediately put it down as business expenses (we are a registered charity) and claim it back against tax.

What you'll get from corporate membership

Your corporate membership will entitle you to:
  • Your website having a link on our website to promote your company.
  • Sponsorship opportunities, putting your name out there in the community.
  • Both monetary contribution and hands-on involvement with our fund-raising projects.
  • Satisfaction that your company is involving itself in the community under the umbrella of the Rotary organisation.
