In the United Kingdom, we're proud to have 40,000 members who are actively involved in 1,500 individual clubs. The UK is thoughtfully organised into districts, and Brentwood à Becket is nestled within District 1240. This district encompasses the entirety of Essex and East Herts and there are 63 vibrant clubs scattered throughout the county.

Who we are

Our membership currently stands at 34, and we are always looking for new members, both individual, corporate or community.  Historically, Rotary may have been associated with the perception of being an 'old man's club,' but this notion couldn't be farther from reality. We've consistently maintained an inclusive approach to membership, actively seeking individuals of all ages to join our dynamic community. It's important to note that our club is not gender-exclusive; in fact, we've embraced the inclusion of women as members for over three decades. Click on the link below to find out more about us.

I’m Emily, a qualified KGHypnobirthing teacher. I live in Chelmsford, Essex, with my husband, young son and our dog. I am also a fully qualified, registered British Sign Language Interpreter.

Whilst pregnant with my first baby, I discovered hypnobirthing and it completely changed my feelings towards birth. Any fear I had, completely disappeared. Hypnobirthing was the preparation I needed to feel calm, in control and even excited.

Following the arrival of my son in early 2020, I felt so passionate about the positive impact hypnobirthing had on me, my baby, and our birth experience I could not stop talking about it!  Understanding first-hand just how powerful hypnobirthing can be, I felt drawn to spread the word to other parents to be.

I originally trained in the KGHypnobirthing Royal College of Midwives accredited course and founded Calm Mama Hypnobirthing. As of May 2021, I will be teaching The YesMum Birth Project (YMBP) course syllabus. This allows me to deliver my course with flexibility alongside the principles and values that are most important to me at the heart of all my teaching.

I offer full hypnobirthing courses in person in Chelmsford and the surrounding areas, Norwich, or via Zoom wherever you are in the world!
I also offer courses in British Sign Language, via Zoom.

First time mum - 2020

The course completely changed our perspective on labour and birth and gave me so much confidence in the decisions I made for the birth I wanted.

Katie

Emily is fantastic. We learnt so much and felt like no question was too small or stupid for us to ask. She explained everything really clearly and took time in-between sessions to send more information and answer any other queries. The classes went really fast and I am feeling much more confident and excited about the path to birth of my first child.

Birth partner

I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Helped me gained confidence in how to help relax my partner more. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Pregnancy relaxation session

I left the session feeling really relaxed and it helped me during the labour as I was able to visualise my happy place that I thought about during the session. Emily has this natural ability to make you feel relaxed and confident approaching labour/birth. Thank you for a lovely session!
